Color Palette

While there are no strict color requirements for your formal attire, we suggest sophisticated choices like black, navy, rich greens, earthy tones, metallics, or neutrals. To maintain the ambiance we're creating, we kindly ask that guests avoid wearing bright, vibrant spring-time colors. Our venue will have greenery, white florals, and touches of gold.

More Questions Answered. . .

Is a tuxedo absolutely required for men?

For our celebration, we're asking gentlemen to wear a tuxedo for our special occasion. We understand that renting or purchasing a tuxedo might be difficult for some guests, so a high-quality dark suit (preferably black) with a crisp white dress shirt and black bowtie/necktie can be an acceptable alternative. However, we sincerely hope our guests will make every effort to wear the proper black tie attire if possible.

Are floor-length dresses required for women?

Traditionally, black tie events call for floor-length evening gowns.

Can I wear a colored or patterned bow tie?

Traditional black tie calls for a black bow-tie. While modern interpretations sometimes include subtle variations, we encourage classic black for a timeless look.

I don't own formal attire. Should I purchase or rent?

Both options are perfectly acceptable. Many formalwear shops offer rental services for tuxedos and formal accessories. For women, consider formal dress rental services, such as Rent the Runway, if you prefer not to purchase a gown.

Is a tie required for men, or can I wear an open collar?

A bow tie or traditional tie is required for black tie attire. An open collar would not be appropriate for this dress code.

Are there any specific "don'ts" for black tie?

Avoid casual elements like sport coats, khakis, loafers, or everyday business attire. For women, daytime fabrics, casual cocktail dresses, or casual footwear would not be appropriate.
